New Berkshire base for Savills

Savills has opened its third Berkshire office in the town of Newbury, it has been announced.

Located in the west of the county, house prices in the attractive town rose by ten per cent between September 2006 and September 2007, according to figures from the Halifax, outperforming growth across the south-east as a whole.

Philip Gready, the head of the firm''s operations in the southern region, explained: "We feel that this is an ideal time and location for the new office in Newbury."

The new office will be staffed by three experienced property professionals including Matthew Lodge, who has been selling property in the area for eight years, and Victoria Stewart, who has been based in west Berkshire since 2006.

The team will be headed up by Michael Gatehouse, who has worked in residential property sales for 20 years.

"Savills is a huge brand in the business, and I feel extremely fortunate to be heading up such a talented team," he said.
